Investigation into Unexplained Injuries

Published on September 4th, 2010

WSMV.com had an article about the criminal investigation into the injuries of a 100 year old nursing home resident.  Dorothy Butler was rushed to a hospital, bleeding and with broken bones, from injuries she suffered at a Murfreesboro nursing home, Boulevard Terrace Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.  She was taken to the hospital with very severe hemorrhaging, four broken ribs and some pressure sores across her body.  Butler also had several bruises on her body.  State and local officials are trying to figure out how it happened.

The state Department of Health said Boulevard Terrace was last inspected in December 2009, and there were four deficiencies. Inspectors said the nursing home had failed to immediately tell the residents, doctors and a family member if a resident was injured or if there was a major change in a resident’s physical or mental health.

They should polygrapg the staff to find out what happened.
