Loris Rehab and Nursing Center has the most coronavirus cases among nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the state over the past 30 days, according to information released by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control. DHEC has registered 46 positive cases among residents at the Loris nursing home over the past month, including seven deaths, and 20 cases to staff.
Loris Rehab and Nursing Center now has 55 positive cases among residents including 11 deaths and 24 staff cases. Pruitt Health in Ridgeway leads the state with both 87 resident cases and 16 resident deaths.
The number of confirmed deaths are shared with Magnolia Manor in Inman which is owned and operated by Murray Forman through his national for-profit chain Fundamental Long Term Care Holdings, LLC n/k/a Hunt Valley Holdings, LLC. Another one of their facilities has been hit hard with 22 staff cases at Magnolia Manor in Greenwood.
In the past 30 days, nine facilities have registered at least 20 resident cases, and there have been a total of 66 deaths among 470 resident cases and 275 staff cases.
The new cases bring the statewide tally to 20,551 since the beginning of the pandemic. There have been a total of 617 deaths statewide.
